Why Choose Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is one of the most effective tools we can use to create more user-friendly brains. Have you ever noticed how easily your mind holds onto negative emotions and fixates on unhappy experiences? Have you seen how much it loves to gnaw on hurtful scenarios and pick at the scabs of old wounds? I have. And I’ve felt really guilty and discouraged by it. So it is with great relief and joy that I welcome current brain research showing that although our brain/mind complex is wired to emphasize negative experiences, it can be taught to register positive experiences more deeply and quickly. Goodbye guilt, hello retraining.
